The Duties Amendment Act 2011 amends the Duties Act 2008 to provide an exemption from duty (tax) on the transfer of vehicle licenses between spouses or de facto partners of 2 years, subject to certain conditions.

Married couples and de facto partners of 2 years transferring vehicle licenses will benefit from a duty exemption, reducing costs associated with the transfer. This applies if the vehicle is used for social, domestic or pleasure purposes.
