This Act excises approximately 758 hectares from Reserve 30897 (Wanjarri Nature Reserve). The excised area ceases to be a Class A reserve and is reserved for mining purposes, managed by the corporation sole established under the Mining Act 1978.

Impact

Mining companies benefit from access to the excised land. The environment may be negatively impacted by mining activities. The public loses access to this portion of the nature reserve. Land title registration processes are affected.
