๐ Business Names (Commonwealth Powers) Act 2012

This Act adopts Commonwealth business names legislation in WA and refers certain powers to the Commonwealth. It also amends the Business Names Act 1962 to transition regulation of business names from the State to the Commonwealth and makes consequential amendments to other WA Acts.
Impact
Businesses and individuals registering business names in WA will now be subject to Commonwealth legislation. State government agencies and other entities may be affected by changes to business name registration and usage rules. Some State laws are amended to reflect the new Commonwealth regime.
