This Act amends the Construction Industry Portable Paid Long Service Leave Act 1985 to include provisions for employees stood down or on workers' compensation, clarifies 'day of service', and addresses vessel-related workers. It also amends the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund and Levy Collection Act 1990.
Impact
Construction workers stood down or on workers' compensation will now have these periods count towards long service leave. Vessel-related workers are also included. The Board's decision-making processes are updated. Employers in the construction industry will need to adjust their long service leave calculations.
