๐ Criminal Appeals Amendment Act 2022

The Criminal Appeals Amendment Act 2022 amends the Criminal Appeals Act 2004 to allow for second or subsequent appeals against conviction based on fresh or new and compelling evidence. It also makes consequential amendments to other related Acts.
Impact
Offenders convicted of offences on indictment may be able to appeal their conviction again if new evidence emerges. The Act also affects the operation of the Bail Act 1982, Criminal Procedure Act 2004, Fines, Penalties and Infringement Notices Enforcement Act 1994, and Supreme Court Act 1935.
