The Legal Profession Amendment Act 2016 amends the Legal Profession Act 2008 to establish a law library, transfer library assets to the State, and introduce a law library contribution to be paid by the Legal Practice Board.
Impact
Legal practitioners, the judiciary, and other prescribed persons will be affected by the establishment of a state-managed law library. The Legal Practice Board will be required to pay a contribution towards the library's costs. The State assumes control of library assets.
