Amends the Terrorism (Preventative Detention) Act 2006 to allow detainees access to approved religious or spiritual advisors, clarifies identification of detainees, and modifies contact and monitoring provisions.
Impact
Detainees under preventative detention orders are affected by the new right to contact religious advisors. Police officers' powers and responsibilities are modified regarding detainee contact and monitoring. Religious advisors are subject to new penalties.
