๐ Trade Measurement Legislation (Amendment and Expiry) Act 2010
054 of 2010Assented 8 December 2010
This Act amends the Trade Measurement Act 2006 and the Trade Measurement Administration Act 2006 to transition the regulation of weights and measures from Western Australia to the Commonwealth, following the National Measurement Amendment Act 2008 (Cth). It also makes consequential amendments to other WA Acts.
Impact
Businesses and individuals involved in trade measurement are affected, as the regulatory oversight shifts to the Commonwealth. The Act ensures a smooth transition by addressing offences committed before the transition, disciplinary actions, and the transfer of information to the National Measurement Institute (NMI).
