๐ Family Violence Legislation Reform Bill 2019
Amends several WA Acts to improve safety for family violence victims, ensure perpetrator accountability, and improve justice system responsiveness. Introduces new offences for suffocation/strangulation and persistent family violence.
Impact
Victims of family violence will be better protected through new offences and improved processes. Perpetrators will face increased accountability. The justice system will be more responsive to family violence cases.

โPenalty for this subsection: imprisonment for 14 years.โ

โSummary conviction penalty for this subsection: imprisonment for 3 years and a fine of $36 000.โ
