๐ Health and Disability Services (Complaints) Amendment Bill 2021
The Health and Disability Services (Complaints) Amendment Bill 2021 amends the Health and Disability Services (Complaints) Act 1995 to introduce the National Code of Conduct for health care workers not registered under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS). It allows the Director of the Health and Disability Services Complaints Office to investigate breaches and issue prohibition orders.
Impact
Unregistered health care workers (e.g., massage therapists, doulas) will be subject to a National Code of Conduct. The public will be better protected from unsafe practices. The Health and Disability Services Complaints Office will have increased powers to investigate and enforce compliance.
