This Bill amends the Industrial Hemp Act 2004 and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1981 to increase the permitted level of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in industrial hemp from 0.35% to 1%.
Impact
Farmers and processors of industrial hemp in WA will be affected, as they will be able to cultivate and process hemp with a higher THC content. This may also impact businesses that use industrial hemp products. The change aligns WA legislation with national food standards.
