Shire of Kellerberrin Dogs Local Law 2015
Delegated Legislation Committee (2001 - 2017)· 18 August 2016general_report
The Delegated Legislation Committee recommends disallowance of the Shire of Kellerberrin Dogs Local Law 2015 due to non-compliance with mandatory procedures under the Local Government Act 1995. The Shire failed to provide the Minister with copies of the proposed local law and public notices as required. This is not the first time the Shire has failed to comply with local law procedures.
Impact
The disallowance will revive the previous local law, but a key clause in that law is already ineffective. The Shire of Kellerberrin needs to improve its compliance with local law procedures to avoid future issues.
