This order is the Retail Trading Hours (Metropolitan Area) Christmas Variation Order 2020. This order comes into operation as follows: clauses 1 and 2 on the day on which this order is published in the Gazette; the rest of the order on the day after that day. General retail shops, other than motor vehicle shops, in the metropolitan area are authorised to be open, at times when those shops would otherwise be required to be closed, on the days and during the periods referred to in the Table.
