I refer to all animal experimentation undertaken in Western Australia (WA), including research funded or administered by the Department of Health, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), and I ask:(a) what is the total amount of funding allocated to animal experimentation across all WA government agencies in the 2025-26 State Budget;(b) what is the breakdown of this funding by agency;(c) what additional funding for animal experimentation is provided or administered through the NHMRC to WA institutions; and(d) what oversight does the Minister have over this funding?

Answer

(a-d) As outlined in the answer Question on Notice 867, DPIRD does not hold budget information across State and Commonwealth agencies.
