Fuel supply—Storage
254. Hon Neil Thomson to
the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation:
My question without
notice of which some notice is given is to the parliamentary secretary to the
Minister for Planning and Lands.
I refer to the
recent announcement by Queensland to make land available near ports to enable
greater fuel storage capacity.
(1) Has the Minister for Planning and
Lands directed his agency to identify land parcels that might be used for
additional fuel storage capacity in Western Australia?
(2) If not, why not?
(3) If yes, what parcels have been
identified?

(1)–(3) The state government has contracted
additional storage capacity as part of the strategic fuel stockpile and is
continuing to explore options to leverage existing capacity across WA.
