Synergy—Wind farms—Power purchase agreements
311. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation:
I refer to the
minister's answer on 5 May to my question without notice 273 on power
purchase agreements signed between Synergy and several wind generation
proposals.
(1) Can Synergy sign PPAs for electricity
without a direction from the minister?
(2) Could Synergy have signed these PPAs
with Parron Maam Marang and Kondinin Wind Farms without a direction from the minister?
(3) Given Synergy was already engaged in
an expression of interest process for additional wind generation, how many
other proponents had submitted an expression of interest and what was the
capacity of each proposal?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1)–(2) Yes.
(3) As Synergy remains in negotiation
with preferred parties, further details are commercial-in-confidence.
