I refer to the 10 schools in the Churchlands Electorate with designated children’s crossings: Churchlands Primary School, Churchlands Senior High School, Floreat Park Primary School, Lake Monger Primary School, Wembley Downs Primary School, Wembley Primary School, Woodlands Primary School, Hale School, Holy Rosary School and Newman College - and ask:
As at 14 May 2026, and for each school separately:
(a) how many designated children’s crossings service the school, and what is the street location of each crossing;
(b) for each designated crossing by street location, how many traffic warden positions are allocated
;
(c) for each designated crossing by street location, how many of the allocated traffic warden positions were filled as at 14 May 2026
;
(d) for each designated crossing by street location, how many of the allocated traffic warden positions were vacant as at 14 May 2026;
(e)
for each vacant position, on what date did the position become vacant
;
(f) for each vacant position, what action is currently being taken to recruit or appoint a traffic warden
;
(g) where an appointed traffic warden is absent on any given school day, does the School Crossing Unit seek to arrange a relief warden
;
(h) where no relief warden is available, is the relevant school notified that the crossing will be unattended;
(i) if yes to (h), what is the process for notifying the school, including who provides the notification, how it is provided and when it is provided; and
; and
(j) if no to (h), why are schools not routinely notified when a designated children’s crossing will be unattended?
