Question

Little Penguin Advisory Group—Report9.Hon Dr Brian Walkerto the Minister for the Environment:I refer the minister to the taskforce established to report on the future of the little penguins in the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park that I believe was due to have reported to the minister by December 2025. I note that a recent City of Rockingham public meeting referred only to a draft report having been submitted thus far.(1) Has the final report been delivered to the minister? If not, why not, and when does the minister expect to receive it?(2) Will the final report be made public? If yes, within what timeframe or, if no, once again, why not?

Answer

Hon Matthew Swinbourn replied:I thank the member for some notice of the question.(1)–(2) The final report is currently being completed by the Little Penguin Advisory Group and is expected to be provided to the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions in the first quarter of this year. The timing of its public release will be determined once the report is provided to government. Little Penguin Advisory Group—Report
