Perth Park—Crown
270. Hon Anthony Spagnolo to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the government's
previous responses regarding lot 551 at Perth Park that stated that
negotiations with Crown "continue to progress positively".
Can the minister
provide a clear update on the status of negotiations with Crown, including what
is currently being negotiated, whether any agreement has been reached in
principle, and the expected timeframe for resolution; and explain why the government
has repeatedly declined to provide any detail beyond stating that negotiations
are "progressing positively"?

I thank the honourable
member for some notice of the question.
The land being
referred to by the member is a parcel of land that was sold to Crown in 2013 by
the previous Liberal–National government for $60 million. Under this land
deal, the land was privatised at a discount, with the Valuer-General actually valuing the land at $95 million.
The current negotiations are ongoing and the government will provide an
update in due course.
