Question
I refer to government-funded housing projects, and I ask:(a) what is the average time between project announcement and construction commencement, in each year for the past 5 years; and(b) what is the average construction time for these projects?
Answer
(a) The timeframe from project announcement to the commencement of a project, along with construction, varies depending on a range of factors from project scale to site conditions. These factors apply to all government and private sector projects.
(b) Average construction time varies depending on the project. By way of example, in a sample of single dwelling timber frame constructions, construction timeframes ranged from 17 weeks to 32 weeks dependent on site location and conditions.
