Housing—Supply
226. Ms Sandra Brewer to
the Minister for Housing and Works:
I have a
supplementary question. Can the minister advise when housing supply in this
state will start going forwards, not backwards?

What I can advise is
we would not want that side in politics. They are opposing affordable social
housing projects.
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: Members!
Mr John Carey: They have no policies. They have no
vision.
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt, please stop
your interjecting.
Mr John Carey: I will come back to the statement I
made before. The reason is that ultimately they have a leader who has no values.
They have a leader who is always seeking to think, "How do I get the next
media opportunity?" They have a leader who gets his lines from Cam
Sinclair.
Point of order
Mr Liam Staltari: The minister was asked a specific
supplementary question on housing supply and he is talking about the Leader of
the Opposition.
The Speaker: I will not uphold that point of order,
but, minister, if you could conclude your comments, that would be great.
Questions without notice resumed
Mr John Carey: On the other side, we see no policies
and no solutions. They cannot agree whether the 20% stamp duty cut is a policy
or not. They have a leadership team in the member for Cottesloe who actively
opposes social and affordable housing projects and a
Leader of the Liberal Party whose only actions to date include shutting down a
women's shelter and suggesting we should drive homelessness services out of the
city.
The Speaker: I call the member for Geraldton with the
last question.
