Question
I refer to roadworks for the Altone Rd/Reid Highway overpass, and concerns raised by residents nearby about the impacts of construction work on their property and quality of life, including one letter shared with the Opposition which included the comment "...the entire house vibrates when the machinery is going all hours day and night and the constant stop/starting of the compactor in particular literally makes everything in our home shudder violently not just continuous vibrations... We are at our wits ends that there is nothing we can do about it but put up with it and wait for it to finish.", in relation to housing along Gibson Way, Beechboro, and I ask:(a) What is the likely cause of the vibrations referred to in the preamble;(b) In relation to the vibrations and compactor works described in the preamble, what is the current expected timetable for these works to conclude;(c) What survey or community engagement work was done before the commencement of the project;(d) What ongoing survey and community engagement work is taking place to understand community impacts as the project progresses;(e) How many complaints or issues have been received by residents about construction impacts on their quality of life and/or property in relation to this project;(f) With reference to (e), what is the process for complaint resolution;(g) How many requests for compensation have been made in relation to the project, to date;(h) How many requests for compensation have been approved, and to what dollar value figure;(i) How many requests for compensation have been denied;(j) What policy governs the approval or denial of compensation requests;(k) From what fund or agency is the payment of compensation undertaken;(l) Noting the comment that "...there is nothing we can do but put up with it and wait for it to finish.", what is the official advice for what impacted residents should do; and(m) Can the Minister please provide project-level contact details which can be provided to the constituent to help them resolve their concerns directly with the project coordinator or relevant community engagement team?
