The 2026 - 27 Budget Papers confirm a much larger number for medical research funding in total than earlier
budgets, particularly because of growth in the Future Health Research and
Innovation Fund and the addition of the Perth Biomedical Precinct and Clinical
Trials Coordination lines. Can the Minister:
(a) Identify how much of the increase since the previous budget is genuinely new money, how much is reclassification, and how much is timing or rephasing; and
(b) Advise has any funding that would previously have appeared elsewhere in WA Health now been rebadged into the medical research table?
