I refer to the answer provided in Question on Notice No.1682, and I ask:(a) Please advise the list of changes that the Department of Education is undertaking to "improve clarity and consistency of existing processes, practices and experiences in relation to home education"?
Answer
(a) The changes being undertaken are:
· update to guidelines and administrative functions to clarify legislative responsibilities of home educators and moderators;
· development of the public-facing website and internal information to improve accessibility and consistency;
· implementing online registrations and evaluations to streamline processes and enhance transparency;
· standardising templates and correspondence for consistency; and
· strengthening oversight for vulnerable children and establishing consistent regional response and cross-agency notification process where risks are identified.
