Workforce round tables
163. Hon Tjorn Sibma to
the Leader of the House representing the
Minister for Skills and TAFE:
I refer to the
minister's 1 March media statement "Roundtables with WA leaders to
underpin new workforce strategy".
(1) By industry sector, which
organisations have been invited to participate at each of the six planned round
tables?
(2) Why has the agricultural sector not
been identified as an industry worthy of attention?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. The following response,
which I provide on behalf of the Leader of the House, has been
provided by the Minister for Skills and TAFE.
(1)–(2) Employers, industry representatives, peak
bodies, unions and training organisations across defence, clean energy,
building and construction, the care sector, advanced manufacturing, and tourism
and hospitality will participate in the round tables. The round tables are in
addition to workforce planning undertaken for all sectors of the economy,
including state and national industry engagement mechanisms.
