Made in WA
326. Hon Phil Twiss to
the Leader of the House representing the
Minister for State Development:
I refer to the Cook
government's Made in WA vision and the Premier's response to the member for
Cottesloe's question in July last year stating in part:
Look, it is not a birthmark. It is not
a scheme; it is a vision and a program that supports that vision.
(1) Within the program that supports that
vision, is there a metric determining which projects and industries receive
grants and funding assistance supporting local manufacturing?
(2) What proportion or percentage of the
project must occur in WA for it to be made in WA?
(3) What stages of a project must occur
in WA for it to be made in WA?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. The following answer is provided on behalf of the Minister for State
Development.
(1)–(3) The Made in WA vision is about investing
to bring manufacturing back into Western Australia across a range of agencies
and projects, including clean energy and transport. Projects across all
agencies are subject to procurement processes where applicable.
