Energy—Battery installation—Collie
372. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Energy and Decarbonisation:
And it is only Wednesday,
President!
I refer to the now
completed Collie Battery Energy Storage System (CBESS) project and the ongoing
jobs associated with its operation. As of 1 May 2026, I ask:
(1) What was the final cost of
construction to operational status for the CBESS project?
(2) How many permanent full-time and
part-time jobs are currently associated with the operational function of CBESS?
(3) How many of each of those full-time
and permanent part-time positions are in Collie and how many are in Perth?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) The final cost of the CBESS project
will be settled with completion of all related development activities. The
project was commissioned on time and remains within budget.
(2)–(3) Total staffing requirements are dependent
on operational and maintenance needs.
