(1) Since the tabling of the Coroner’s report into the death of Jamie Frederick Ginn, has a formal review of staffing levels and operational roles at the Perth Watch House been completed?(2) If yes to Question 1:(a) on what date was the review completed;(b) what findings were made regarding the adequacy of staffing per shift; and(c) what findings were made regarding the appropriateness of a single Cells Control Officer being responsible for both continuous CCTV monitoring and administrative tasks?(3) Since the tabling of the Coroner’s report into the death of Jamie Frederick Ginn, what changes, if any, have been implemented at the Perth Watch House as a result of any staffing or operational review, including:(a) the allocation of officers dedicated solely to CCTV monitoring;(b) the provision of additional auxiliary officers for administrative duties; and(c) the introduction of role-rotation or fatigue-mitigation arrangements?(4) On what dates were any changes referred to in Question 3 implemented?
Answer
(1) The WA Police Force has continued to undertake reviews and workforce planning to ensure staffing levels in custodial settings align with operational requirements.
(2)
(a) Staffing levels are continuosly reviewed within the Perth Watch House (PWH) to ensure operational requirements are maintained.
(b) A second Cells Control Officer and a consistent nursing presence was required.
(c) A second Cells Control Officer was engaged to support continuous CCTV monitoring and administrative tasks.
(3)
(a) The WA Police Force engaged a second Cells Control Officer per shift to support continuous CCTV monitoring.

(4) The changes were implemented immediately following the completion of the Coroner's Inquest, on 21 November 2025.
