I refer to the procurement of a new maritime training vessel for South Metropolitan TAFE and the interim use of charter vessels, and I ask:(a) who is responsible for selecting the new training vessel, and what criteria are being used in that decision-making process;(b) will the Minister table the assessment criteria and governance arrangements guiding this procurement;(c) can the Minister confirm reports that its recently chartered vessel suffered an electrical failure, including a fire, on its first day of use;(d) what due diligence, safety checks and risk assessments are being undertaken before charter vessels are engaged to support maritime training; and(e) how will the Government ensure continuity of training while also safeguarding students and staff from risks associated with temporary vessels?
