Question

I refer to the WA Housing Strategy 2020-2030 focus area 1, and I ask, as at the date of this question:(a) What is the progress on a "six per cent net increase in social housing by 2030";(b) What is the percentage of social and affordable homes in Government residential developments;(c) What is the status of the framework and baseline standards "to make approval systems consistent and efficient"; and(d) What percentage of residential land lots in Government residential developments are being sold:(i) Below the median price; and(ii) In the lowest quartile?

Answer

(a) – (d) The WA Housing Strategy 2020–2030 was drafted prior to the effects of COVID, which radically reshaped the housing and construction markets, and is no longer an active document. Unlike the Liberal National Opposition, the Cook Government committed to a social housing target at the last election and has invested a record $6.3 billion in housing initiatives.
