I refer to the Question Without Notice No. 120 asked 11 March 2026, and the letter I sent to the Minister for Transport on the 25 March 2026 regarding crossing safety concerns at North Fremantle station, and I ask: (a) what, if any, work has been undertaken on the North
Fremantle station crossing since 1 January 2024 to date; (b) on what dates did the work in (a), occur; (c) why does the crossing, measuring approximately 1400mm, still not
comply with AS 1742.7 (section 6) standards which require crossings of this
type to maintain a minimum clear width of 1800mm; and (d) when will the crossing be upgraded to ensure
compliance and improve safe access for all users?

(a)-(d)  Design and initial works for the North Fremantle Station pedestrian crossing have been completed, including site surveys and installation of pedestrian gate posts (design commenced 28 October 2024; gate posts completed 17 October 2025).
To limit disruption to the community, works will recommence following the opening of the new Fremantle Traffic Bridge.
The footpath width at the crossing complies with the 1800mm minimum clear width requirement in AS1742.7:2016.
