I refer to the recently announced Commercial Lease of Jorgensen Park in the City of Kalamunda:(a) Will the Minister confirm whether Jorgensen Park (Reserve 50554) is located within a Priority 1 drinking water source area or proclaimed water catchment;(b) If yes to (1), will the Minister advise whether the proposed commercial event requires approval from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation under the Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Act 1909;(c) Will the Minister confirm whether an assessment needs to be undertaken to determine the risk of contamination or impact to drinking water quality from the proposed event activities; and(d) Will the Minister advise whether the Department has provided any formal advice or approval in relation to this proposal?

(a) Jorgensen Park is located within a Priority 1 public drinking water source area, known as the Lower Helena Pipehead Dam Catchment Area (Middle Helena) or Middle Helena Catchment Area.
(b) The commercial event does not require approval under this Act. The Middle Helena Catchment Area is not constituted under the Metropolitan Water Supply, Sewerage and Drainage Act 1909 .
(c) Event information was assessed by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, and water source protection advice was provided to the City of Kalamunda, as the decision maker for this event.
(d) Advice was provided to the City of Kalamunda on 8 May 2026.
