Fuel supply—Regions
150. Mr Lachlan Hunter to
the Premier:
I have a
supplementary question. Premier, after weeks of shifting language, media
releases and no action—
The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt, there are
no preambles in supplementary questions. Ask the question, please.
Mr Lachlan Hunter: Thank you, Mr Speaker. Premier,
when can the farmers and regional communities expect their diesel to rock up?

Mr Speaker, I do not
know how many different ways I can answer this question—
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
The Speaker: Member!
Mr Roger Cook: Here we have the opposition saying this
has been weeks. By his own definition, it has been 12 days. In that time we
brought industry together in a round table. We have had a response from the
federal government. We have had industry working with government in response. We
have had industry continuing to look at opportunities to provide further fuel
to the system.
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt, I call you
to order for the first time. Stop interjecting.
Mr Roger Cook: We are doing everything the community
expects of us around making sure we get extra fuel out into our regional
communities. As I go around the community, people are acknowledging the work
that we are doing, but we are also—
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: Members of the opposition!
Mr Roger Cook: They acknowledge that we are working
hard. They acknowledge that we are doing everything we can to work with
industry to make sure—
Mr Shane Love interjected.
The Speaker: Leader of the National Party!
Mr Basil Zempilas interjected.
The Speaker: Leader of the Opposition, the member has
asked the question. Let the Premier respond. Please stop interjecting.
Mr Roger Cook: I hear the Leader of the Opposition
mocking the fact that Davina, a farmer from Newdegate, would bring up her
concerns to me in relation to this issue. That says it all, Mr Speaker.
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
The Speaker: Member for Central Wheatbelt!
Mr Lachlan Hunter interjected.
Mr Roger Cook: That says it all—
The Speaker: Premier, please just pause. Member for
Central Wheatbelt, I am calling you for the second time. I asked you to stop
interjecting.
Mr Roger Cook: This is what is happening here. They
are not concerned about the people on the ground. They are simply out here
trying to make a noise in Parliament, trying to create panic, trying to create
some sort of political advantage for themselves. They are not concerned about
their communities at all.
Several members
interjected.
Mr Roger Cook: All
that interjection, Mr Speaker, all that noise that you hear at the moment, that
is the best demonstration of that so far.
