The 2026-27 Budget papers identify $10m for the relocation of the Cancer Council of WA. Can the Minister advise:
(a) What specfically is this funding for;
(b) Does this relocation refer to the Cancer Council’s Crawford Lodge accommodation which is part of the QE II footprint and when will it take effect;
(c) When did discussions on this relocation commence;
(d) Does the Cancer Council lease the land and or accommodation from the Government, if so at what cost, when does the lease expire and is there any consideration – financial or other – being provided to the Cancer Council to terminate the lease;
(e) Is $10m paid directly to the Cancer Council and they will effectively vacate the site and if so where to and by what expected date;
(f) Apart from the $10m set aside for this relocation, what financial and or other considerations are being made to the Cancer Council for this relocation at a new site;
(g) Crawford Lodge is alongside Ronald McDonald House, which itself is alongside the Oral Health Centre and UWA Health Campus, as such are any of these tenants likely to be affected by this relocation, and have any discussions been held with these tenants about their ongoing tenancies;
(h) Is the land to be surrendered by the Cancer Council to be used for an expansion of Ronald McDonald House as committed to in the 2025 State Election; and
(i) Whether the Government identified options for the use of the land vacated, if so, what are they and who has been consulted? it likely that the land is being contemplated to be used for the proposed Comprehensive Cancer Centre announced by the Government?
