I refer to the Premier's announcement on 26 May, 2026 regarding the proposal to establish a weapons manufacturing hub in Collie and ask:
(a) Did any of the multiple consultancies undertaken over the past several years in relation to transition strategies for Collie identify the possibility of a weapons manufacturing hub, if so which ones;
(b) When did the Government conceive of the strategy and who was consulted;
(c) Have there been any discussions with local manufacturers or intereted parties regarding the suitability of Collie as a location for a weapons manufacturing hub, if so who and when;
(d) What engagement has been contemplated for the people of Collie;
(e) Has the documentation for the expression of interest been completed, if not when will it be completed;
(f) What provisions are there in the expressions of interest regarding local content and local employment opportunities;
(g) When will the six week expression of interest process commence;
(h) Has the Federal Government and specifically the Commonwealth's Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Enterprise been consulted, if so, when and what has been the response;
(i) Is Federal Government approval required prior to the expression of interest being released; and
(j) Has the Government completed a business case, if so, what were identified as the potential risks for such an initiative?
