It is not. It is part of what we do in government.
There are over 900 more police officers than when we were elected in 2017.
There are more cops on the beat today than at any point in the state's history.
Importantly, our academy has doubled its capacity so there are around 1,000
graduates each year. They are doing a great job. Whereas, in other states, we see
significant shortages in workforce. Most of our police force roster is filled.
In addition to that
we have extra resources such as Operation Regional Shield, which means we can
deploy even more cops on the beat in areas that require immediate action. The
premise of the member's question is just plain wrong.
