I refer to the Office of the Local Government Inspector officially opening on January 1, and I ask:(a) How many enquiries have been made to the Local Government Inspector’s office since it opened;(b) How many of these enquiries have been actioned;(c) How many of these enquiries have reached a conclusion;(d) How many of enquiries received were not within the scope of the Local Government Inspector’s powers;(e) How many individual Local Governments have had enquiries made against them, a member or members of their council, or any staff members; and(f) What is the breakdown of enquiries relating to elected members versus staff members?

The office of the Local Government Inspector has provided the following information for the period 1 January 2026 to 23 February 2026.
a) 84 complaints and 102 enquiries.
b) All 84 complaints acknowledged. 99 enquiries actioned.
c) 10 complaints and 97 enquiries.
d) 12 complaints and 20 enquiries.
e) 32 local governments had complaints and 42 Local Governments had enquiries.
f) 52 complaints relating to elected members and 32 relating to staff.
