Question
I refer to invasive vertebrate pest species within the following parks and reserves, and State forest areas in the Perth Hills: Kalamunda National Park, Gooseberry Hill National Park, Helena National Park, Beelu National Park, Mundy Regional Park,Wooroloo Regional Park, Pickering Brook and surrounding conservation estate (commonly referred to as Korung National Park) and State forest areas within and surrounding Kalamunda, Mundaring, Pickering Brook and Wooroloo. For each park, reserve and State forest area:(a) What monitoring programs or survey methods are currently used to assess the presence, activity or abundance of the following invasive vertebrate pest species:(i) feral pigs;(ii) European red foxes;(iii) rabbits;(iv) deer;(v) feral goats; and(vi) feral cats;(b) What is the most recent available monitoring data for each species identified in (a), including:(i) activity indices (e.g. camera traps, sandpad tracking, scat counts or equivalent); and(ii) any available estimates of abundance, density, occupancy, distribution or relative activity;(c) Over the past 5 years, has the recorded activity, occupancy, distribution or abundance of each species in each park, reserve and State forest area:(i) Increased;(ii) decreased; and(iii) remained broadly stable;(d) If no monitoring data is available for a species in a park, reserve or State forest area, will the Minister state this explicitly; and(e) Will the Minister table, or otherwise identify, any reports, datasets, monitoring summaries or internal assessments that support the above answers?
