Fuel supply—Regions
179. Mr Peter Rundle to
the Premier:
I have a
supplementary question.
If the Premier
cannot provide a clear timeline, does he accept that his government has lost
control of fuel supply in the regions, and what does he say to those already
out of diesel, whose businesses, household budgets and livelihoods are now
under direct pressure?

AnswerView source ↗

We acknowledge and
understand that there is a lot of anxiety in the community at the moment as a
result of the peaks in demand that occurred over the last fortnight and the
impact that has had in terms of supply chains. As I said,
we continue to have supply. What we have are challenges around distribution. That
is the work that we are doing at the moment in conjunction with industry
through the fuel industry operational group and through the work that we are
doing in government to make sure that we can get fuel supplies as soon as
possible.
