Note 2 on page 489 of the Budget Papers that the variation between budget and actual average cost of a family and domestic violence case is as a result of higher reporting rates, expansion of Statewide FDV Response Teams and increased public awareness. Can the Minister advise:
(a) Of the empirical evidence to support each of these claims;
(b) That these are the reasons why WA has the second highest rate of FDV related FDV assaults of any State or Territory as confirmed in the Government's own "Strengthening Responses to Family and Domestic Violence; and
(c) If there is any possibility that at least some of the increased FDV incidents constitute a real increase and to categorise them as a result of better public awareness is to diminish the gravity of the issue?
