(1) How many infringements have been
issued so far this year?
(2) Have any been subject to internal
review prior to a recipient electing to have the matter determined by a court?
(3) Have any been withdrawn or not
pursued after the recipient elected to have the matter determined by a court?
(4) What was the date of the last
briefing note the minister received about this matter?
(5) Will the minister table that briefing
note and, if not, why not?

(1) Since 8 October 2025, 57,074
infringements have been issued for seatbelt offences captured by the new safety
cameras.
(2) Infringement reviews are the
responsibility of the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure.
(3) Yes.
(4)–(5) The minister is briefed regularly on all
portfolio matters.
