327. Hon Michelle Boylan to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Attorney General:
I refer to reports that there is up to three weeks
wait time for an interim family violence restraining order in the Mandurah
courts.
(1) Can the minister confirm that this is
true?
(2) If no, what is the current wait time?
(3) If yes, what is the government doing
to reduce these delays for victim-survivors seeking protection?

(1) This is not true.
(2) The next available interim FVRO
listing at Mandurah court is in seven days; however, applicants for restraining
orders can request an urgent same-day listing that is assessed by a magistrate.
