Answer
Hon Jackie Jarvis replied:I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. The following response has
been provided by the Minister for Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence.
The Department of Communities advises:(1)–(3) The Department of Communities has
a service agreement with Pilbara Community Legal Services (PCLS) for the domestic
violence outreach service in Newman. The service agreement is fully funded by
the Commonwealth government, which funds a full-time domestic violence advocacy
role. PCLS has advised Communities of the vacancy in the domestic violence outreach
worker position. Communities has provided support to PCLS to manage its staffing
flexibly across its funded family and domestic violence services and locations
in the Pilbara and strengthen partnerships with service partners to meet
critical support needs in Newman.
