Smart freeway system
235. Hon Simon Ehrenfeld to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the
answers to my previous question without notice on 12 March 2026 regarding
the operation of the Mitchell Freeway smart freeway system.
(1) For the outages during 2026 that were
longer than a few hours, what was the duration of each?
(2) Since the introduction of the smart
freeway system, what has been the average reduction in travel time between
Hester Avenue and the CBD referred to in the minister's previous answer?

for some notice of the question. I provide the following answer on behalf of
the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(2) Since opening, there has been a travel
time saving of approximately 10 minutes and five seconds compared with the 2020
baseline.
