South Hedland—Office buildings
255. Hon Julie Freeman to
the Minister for Community Services:
I refer to the
abandoned state government office buildings on the corner of Tonkin Street and
Brand Street in South Hedland, while housing shortages and office space
pressures continue locally.
(1) What is the reason for the extended
vacancy of these buildings?
(2) What is the government's definitive
plan for this site, and when will that plan be implemented?
(3) What are
the current annual holding and servicing costs of the site, including
electricity, security, maintenance, insurance and any other ongoing
expenses, given the offices remain unused and appear to still be powered and
maintained?
