205. Hon Rob Horstman to
the minister representing the Minister for Emergency
Services:
I refer to the
Department of Fire and Emergency Services' marine rescue vessel upgrades for
Mandurah, Cockburn, Fremantle and Whitfords.
(1) Can the minister outline the
individual specifications of each of the four new vessels?
(2) Were marine rescue groups required to
make contributions to the purchase of the vessels as part of the Marine Capital
Grants Program?
(3) How many groups applied for the
grants?

I thank the member
for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided by the
Minister for Emergency Services.
(1) Fremantle received an upgrade of a 12-metre
aluminium catamaran with twin inboard motors; Cockburn received a 10-metre
fibreglass catamaran with twin inboard motors; Mandurah received a 12-metre rigid
inflatable boat with twin outboard motors; and Whitfords received a 12-metre rigid
inflatable boat with twin outboard motors.

(3) Nil.
