Perth Park—Crown
359. Hon Anthony Spagnolo to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Sport and Recreation:
I refer to the
minister's response to my question without notice regarding lot 551 at Perth
Park, in which the minister noted the land had been valued at $95 million
in 2013.
(1) On what basis does the government
expect to acquire privately held land without compensation, and has the
government received legal advice on this matter?
(2) What is the government's estimate of
the current value of the land, noting that land valued at $95 million in
2013 could, under current market conditions, now be worth close to a quarter of
a billion dollars?
(3) Given the government is apparently
acquiring this land without payment, will it rule out non-monetary compensation
or other benefits to Crown or related entities in exchange for the land, and if
not, will the minister transparently disclose the value of any such benefit to
the Parliament?
