that has found that the onselling of Western Australian gas exports by Japanese
companies has netted them a profit of approximately $800 million over the last
financial year, which is $140 million more than the government took in
royalties and fees over that same period.(1) Why does the Premier continue to promote
investment and approvals of climate-wrecking gas projects when the financial
returns are less than what our trading partners are earning from WA gas?(2) Will the Cook Labor
government consider a ban on the onselling of WA gas?

Leader of the House. The following response has been provided by the Premier.(1)–(2) The WA Government supports the use
of WA LNG to assist countries in their energy transition.
