representing the Minister for Tourism:
I refer to the
recent discovery of human remains at Wadjemup (Rottnest Island), and the
detection of a further 12 potential unmarked Aboriginal burial sites on the
island.
(1) Has
the WA Labor government communicated with the Rottnest Island Deaths Group
Aboriginal Corporation (RIDGAC) since the recent discovery of human remains and
the detection of a further 12 potential Aboriginal burial sites?
(2) If yes to (1), when did this occur?
(3) If no to (1), why not and will the WA
Labor government commit to meeting with RIDGAC?
