I refer to the former Albert Apartments site at 8 Albert Street, South Perth, which remains under State Government control and appears undeveloped, can the Minister advise:(a) whether any demolition permits, development applications, expressions of interest, sale processes, or redevelopment plans have been initiated or lodged since 2024;(b) the Government’s intended timeline to activate this site; and(c) whether the Government has considered targeted outcomes for this high-value land consistent with social and housing priorities? Answer

(a) – (c)    The apartment block at 8 Albert Street, South Perth, has been decanted and will undergo a full refurbishment. This will ensure the ageing apartment complex is safe and fit for purpose for the long term. Following full refurbishment, the complex will return to service social housing.
